JamesXRemus: Attraction..

Of all the people to walk in on him, it had to have been him, hadn't it?

James Potter had found himself alone in the Gryffindor common room, choosing to seize one of the comfiest armchairs available while gazing at the flames in the fireplace, as they twirled and danced together in the fading sunlight which glittered in from the window. It seemed rather out of character for a boisterous boy such as himself, he admit; however, he was rather glad of the quiet for once. It had meant he could think properly to himself, uninterrupted...

..the word had being the operative word.
James suddenly heard someone enter the common room, and he abruptly glanced back over his shoulder as he was broken from his thoughts- he had hoped, only momentarily.
This, however, would not be the case.

"A-ah.. Hello, Prongs.."
The almost child-like voice made his heart leap. His voice hadn't fully broken yet, and James couldn't help but find it somewhat adorable. It didn't help that the boy had such child-like tenacities, either..
He gulped a little, as if keeping the butterflies in his stomach back, "Hey, Moony.."
Remus smiled in an endearing way, which almost threw James, "I didn't expect to see you here.. alone.."
Oh merlin's pants; he was suspicious of him.
"Ah.. no, well, that's because.. because Padfoot and I decided we might be able to come up with some even better pranks if we were thinking apart for a while. I mean, I myself think we're better together, but y'know.. might as well give it a go, eh?" James managed to invent, and grinned in the way he did when he wanted to impress someone.
Remus' smile seemed to disappear at the mention of him and Sirius, and thereafter turned into a cute pout.

But he simply rolled his eyes lightly, and began walking slowly towards the stairs to the dorms. Now that James inspected closer, he noticed the pile of books Remus was carrying in his small arms.. "I see. Anyway, I'm going to bed now so-"
"D'you need any help with those?"

He had said it before he could stop himself. The look on Remus' face probably mirrored James' inner shock and confusion, for having said it.
"..What?.."
"Y-your books. It's just.. you know, they look heavy for you.. and I'm awesome so," He'd grown pretty accustomed to adding the last part to most, if not all of his reasoning.
Remus had looked shocked but almost delighted when James had started his reasoning.. but by the end of it seemed to think himself stupid for not expecting such a thing to come from Prongs' mouth.
"Yeah, if you want.."
It was said quietly, but James heard, and almost sprang to his feet- albeit maintained his posture and remained cool, as he got up slowly and strode over to Remus.

He hoped to high-heaven he wasn't blushing, as he had to lean over Moony slightly to take some of the books. He ended up with half of the pile, if not slightly more, and even that amount was quite heavy for him. He was almost thankful though, as it gave him something to talk about as they began walking together.
"Bloody hell Moony, you really are stronger than you look~! These weigh a ton!" James said, as he laughed lightly, "I don't know why you don't just use a levitation spell on them. Wingardium leviosa." He added, using the spell on his own pile.
Remus rolled his eyes, maybe to avert his eyes from James- he looked as if he had gone slightly pink. "O-of course I am, Prongs. I'm a werewolf. A-and it's not really a problem, this amount.."
Damn, why was he so good at making James feel stupid? ..Although, what he had added at the end had been really cute. "Haha.. yeah but still~"
He seemed to roll his eyes again, and started walking at a slightly faster pace, James noticed. He raised an eyebrow, but decided against questioning it.. instead he found himself looking- no, gazing- at Remus' hair.

It was so fluffy and light, and it almost reminded James of candy floss. The way it bounced and fluttered in his wake made him want to just reach out and play with it.. yet he had no idea why. This was precisely why he had needed to think in the first place. He fancied the pants off of Lily Evans, did he not? So why the sudden... he cringed, as he thought of the word- attraction.. to one of his best mates? It was completely and utterly mad! He knew it was!.. but... his childish manner, with his adorable chocolate obsession.. his adorably cute and young voice.. the way he was of a smaller build to James himself.. yet so, so strong... and how he was so intelligent; studying so hard, even though it seemed he needn't do it... and his hair, face and eyes; those gems which could capture him and seal him away forever if he dare stare for too long... not to mention his plump little lips… bloody hell, he made him want him so bad... and that was without him moving his glare down slowly...slowly....

"...James?"
James blinked, jumping a little as he suddenly came to his senses, and realised that they had stopped by Remus' bedside. "H-huh? What?"
Remus sighed, "The books, James."
"Oh.. oh, yeah, right!" He smirked, quickly setting them down and rubbing his head apologetically.


..There was a silence which seemed to last an eternity, as they both glared at each other.. James wasn't sure.. but he swore the look Remus was giving him was one as if he was expecting more from him, rather than a 'you can go now' sort of look...

"...Remus, I uh.."

Suddenly, the door to the boy's dorm opened, and a taller black-haired boy stepped into the room, wearing a huge grin- which widened as he set eyes on the two boys already inside.
"Yo~ Prongs; Moony! I managed to smuggle us some butterbeer! Don't ask, just drink, alright?" Sirius greeted, as he handed them both the drinks with a flick of his wand, still grinning. He'd clearly already had a lot of it himself.
James and Remus looked from one to another briefly, albeit still at the same time wanting to avoid each other's gaze, before both smiling, as James went up to his best friend and clapped him around the back- albeit, perhaps less eagerly than he would have done normally.

Clearly, his question would have to wait a while longer.
